In case of emergencies, we all need a cheap cell phone. My current phone is the Motorola i855 from Boost Mobile. Target sells the phone with the start up kit for around $50 bucks, and you activate your phone via phone or net. I like the pre-paid service with internet browser, so I can access the web anywhere in the USA. The walkie talkie feature comes in handy and is unlimited use for a dollar a day. This phone is a great phone to use as a primary or as a cheap back up with useability. You never know when you will need a dependable phone to tell the rescue workers where you at.
